Rogue: Rogue 16’ tandem is a great whitewater canoe. Created specifically to use on
fast rivers, the Rogue's hull is quite short, very wide, quite deep, and has the
most rocker of any of our models. This is our fastest-maneuvering tandem
canoe, and it has exceptional buoyancy and dryness. Due to its mission, we
make the Rogue only from ultra-durable Royalex.
While its great depth gives enough displacement for gear, the Rogue is
typically used light for the pure thrill of running rapids. Its bow is blunt to
resist impact; deep to shed waves, and is flared ahead of the seat to deflect
spray while preserving good paddle access to the water. The contour of the
shallow-arched hull is oriented strongly to final stability (rather than initial)
making the Rogue much easier to handle on bouncy water than a design with a
flatter.
To augment its safety on whitewater, we suggest you outfit it -- or any
whitewater canoe -- with supplemental air flotation bags. It's also wise to
kneel rather than sit in the hull, and to secure yourself using thigh straps.
Complete whitewater canoe outfitting accessories are in stock at our

Rendezvous Solo Whitewater Canoe:
This is a crossover design; it's highly capable on fast water, but it travels quite
well with less of a current, too. The Rendezvous has 2 1/2" of rocker to turn
quickly, and deep, flared ends to deflect waves. Its wide, full hull also gives
plenty of buoyancy on frothy water. Lightly loaded, this hull loves to play, and
many people buy it for that. But it's not a quirky whitewater dart, rather a
downriver canoe. It has an efficient hull shape with tumblehome in the center
to let you paddle effectively and closer to the centerline. Its performance with
a load makes it ideal for trips on fast water, where it has plenty of agility and
seaworthiness. Canoe & Kayak Magazine called it "multifaceted" and gave this
canoe high praise. "On whitewater, where I knelt in the canoe," the reviewer
noted, "the Rendezvous was a whitewater boat. But on the lower river, where I
sat on the seat, it became a cruiser. Although it stayed dry in the current and
waves, it also tracked well and was fast." We outfit the Rendezvous with a
fixed, web seat that is angled down slightly in front. This configuration gives
greater control to a person who is kneeling, which is the posture favored by
most whitewater paddlers. We also carry all the parts to outfit your
Rendezvous with a pillar seat, knee pads and thigh straps!

Kestrel double kayak: The new Kestrel double kayak is a "crossover" tandem. It's shorter than a
touring kayak and longer than a recreational kayak. The easy enter and egress
cockpits are positioned far enough apart to allow non-synchronized paddling,
and also makes room for a center hatch. All the other features you expect in a
Kestrel are present, including dual paddle rests for each cockpit, and fishing
rod holders. A rudder is standard. Current Designs build the 170T in
fiberglass / Kevlar / graphite composite hybrid for the lightest weight.
Length 17'0", Width 33", Swede Form Shallow "V" Quiet Water.
Hybrid - 65 lbs - $2299 |
