Rental Shift Lead

Work at a beautiful waterfront paddling center, work very hard, with a wonderful staff, enjoy great benefits, and have lots of fun.

Part-time (weekends) in April, May June and September;

Full-Time in June, July and August

Title:

  • Rental Shift Lead
  • Take wonderful care of customers – Supervise and support Boat Handlers, run office including customer check in and waiver, cash register for payment, balancing end-of-day report.
  • 2 seasonal positions available – Weekends until June 22, full-time through Labor Day, weekends the rest of September

Prerequisites:

  • Cheerful and outgoing (lots of smiles), positive and interested in helping customers

·         Empathetic to customers’ needs

·         Works well with others, likes to work hard, likes a variety of types of work – some physical, some intellectual, likes to learn new things – inquisitive, explorative

  • Likes to work in an outdoor environment
  • Able to follow Cascade company procedures and guidelines
  • Able to plan schedule and meet commitments
  • Able to lift 65 pounds
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Washington State Patrol background check required
  • Organized
  • Able to manage and supervise subordinates

Description:

·         Greet and assist visitors

·         Ensure paperwork is properly completed

·         Assist customers by carrying and adjusting boats, fitting paddles and lifejackets, as well as safety equipment on and off the water, requiring heavy lifting up to 65 pounds (training provided)

·         Give information to and interview customers, claimants, and employees

·         Keep office secure

·         Receive, count, and pays out cash change

·         Receive and process credit cards

·         Receive and process checks

·         Compile, store, and retrieve data, using computer

·         Operate office machines, such as computer, photocopy, adding, calculating, and duplicating machines

·         Properly compete end of day report

·         Help keep working areas clean and orderly

  • Communicate with management regarding ways to improve
  • Attend staff meetings

·         Assist instructional staff as needed

  • Knowledgeable about our trips and lessons and pleased to share that information with rental customers (training provided)
  • Able to provide basic canoe and kayak instruction (training provided)
  • Able to provide a safe environment and able to perform open water rescues of canoes and kayaks (training provided)
