Ski-2-Sea Canoe Prep ClinicACA

Learn to propel your canoe forward with an efficient and fast canoeing technique, learn where the fastest water moves in the river and take a practice run on the course to find the fastest routes.

Day 1 -  Steering and powerful technique - Your canoe will go faster and you will                  become less fatigued by better control over your direction and the ability to apply power with improved technique.  This session is held at the Cascade Boathouse in Renton.  We will paddle on Lake Washington and the Cedar River.

Day 2 -  Learn to paddle in the Nisqually River currents, how to control your canoe in moving water, where water moves fastest on the river and take a practice run down the Sea-to-Sea course to learn the fastest routes.

This class is taught by former US Canoe/Kayak Team member (sprint and whitewater) and coach (sprint), Dan Henderson.  Dan also co-authored the Level 1 Coaching Manual for the International Canoe Federation, the world and Olympic governing body for canoe/kayak racing.  Dan has conducted extensive research on paddling mechanics and has presented his research in national and international forums.
